Driving Sucks

I'll be frank, I hate driving two and a half hours everyday to get to college. But, views like this one go a long way to making up for it

raisins deserve their fate

I don't need one more step between me and toast. nuff said. (Mitch Hedberg said it, check him out on youtube if you need a good laugh.)

William Eggleston is my uncle

Hehe. So I am not related. It is still a cool shot. How was it lit? In the dark, nothing but the K800i's Xenon flash. Creepy, but cool.

Gape into the Void

I have been reading "Ignore Everybody" and have been enjoying the humourous style and solid advice offered for the meaningful life of a creative. If you do not know of Hugh MacLoed or his art you should head over to gapingvoid.com and check him out. He is sassy, down-to-earth and pragmatic: a winning combination.

Ten Tips For Better Sex

Exciting news! Work has begun on the book: "Ten Tips For Better Sex". Release date is TBA. As I have mentioned to a couple of you in conversation, this book has little to nothing to do with sex. Rather, it (the title) plays on the requirement of including 'sex' on the cover to boost sales (which, incidentally, has a lot do with the subject matter of the book). Stay tuned for excerpts and updates.

Heritage Day

Today, 24 September, is National Heritage Day here in South Africa. Of course, in true 'hallmark card' style the popular press has renamed it National Braai Day. (Pronounced be-reh-high, feel free to 'brey' the 'r' for effect.) A braai (noun and verb) is an outdoor barbecue and apparently the only symbol of unity and heritage we citizens have. Interestingly, Heritage Day is one of just a few holidays of ours that are not rooted in Judeo-Christian tradition. The weather in the Western Cape is being totally rebellious though (wet), and I for one, will not be doing any braaing today.

CBD

23 September is international Celebrate Bisexuality Day. How did I celebrate? I wore an intense purple / blue / pink shirt and I was myself. I will have to find a picture of the iridescent garment.
